Mars Hill University invites applicants to apply for the Assistant Director of Residence Life position. The Assistant Director of Residence Life will oversee all training, selection, programming and academic initiatives within the department. He or she will work to maintain updated departmental information on the university’s website and coordinate all residential initiatives, to include the development of a residential living and learning community/curriculum with specialized housing themes. This individual will also adjudicate cases for violations of the student code of conduct. An opportunity to work with and provide oversight of Greek Life may also come with this position. This individual, a master’s level live-on professional, will have direct oversight over 1-3 Graduate Area Coordinators.
A bachelor’s degree is required with significant experience
Experience supervising graduate and undergraduate staff, advising student groups, training staff, working with living/learning communities, programming, and presenting
Demonstrated experience regarding commitment to inclusion and social justice
Serving on-call/crisis response experience is essential.
The ability to effectively solve problems and successfully communicate, collaborate, motivate, and educate students and staff.
Completion of a master’s degree in higher education/student affairs or other related field AND 3-5 years of professional and/or para-professional student affairs work experience
Experience and/or desire to work with Greek Life
Salary range is commensurate with experience
The Assistant Director position is a live-on position.

The Assistant Director position is an exempt, full-time, professional staff member
