The Associate Dean of Quality Assurance and Graduate Programs is responsible for coordinating the College of Education's quality assurance system including strategic planning, assessment and evaluation for continuous improvement, statistical analysis of instrumentation to establish validity and reliability, and data dissemination. The Associate Dean provides leadership for and coordination of the operational function of the research mission of the College including strategic partnerships with Foundations, agencies, corporations, and businesses. The Associate Dean also provides leadership for and coordination of the operational function of the College's graduate academic mission. The Associate Dean works closely with the dean, associate deans, and department chairs to develop and support the enhancement of the faculty human capital. The Associate Dean serves on the Graduate Council, the Council of Associate and Assistant Deans (CAAD), the university's Institutional Effectiveness Council, and other committees as assigned. The Associate Dean also represents the College at events and activities when the dean is unavailable.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit:
The College of Education offers undergraduate and graduate, and doctoral degree programs that prepare leaders in K-12 public schools in elementary education, special education, reading education, instructional technology, counseling, and school administration as well as in higher education. Additionally, faculty prepare leaders for communities, businesses, and agencies in rehabilitation counseling, mental health counseling, and behavioral health and wellness.

The Associate Dean must have a doctorate in education or a related field and a strong record of research, scholarly, and/or creative achievement that warrants tenure in an academic department at North Carolina A&T State University. Administrative experience as department chair, program coordinator, or similar position also is required.
The preferred candidate will have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in an administrative role (e.g., assistant dean or department chair); strong interpersonal, analytic, and written and oral communication skills; knowledge of the disciplines and programs represented in the College; ability to perform the essential duties related to internal operations of the College including, but not limited to: accreditation, assessment, curricula development, research programs, and student success; commitment to serving diverse constituencies in a shared governance environment; ability to interpret policies and apply regulations within given business practices and organizational structures; desire to work in a team-based, dynamic environment.
